VAN PERSIE AUMIA AKIICHEZEA UHOLANZI IKIICHAPA HUNGARY 4-1

Mshambuliaji wa kimataifa wa Uholanzi na klabu ya Manchester United, Robin van Persie alitolewa nje katika kipindi cha mapumziko baada ya kupata majeruhi nyuma ya paja katika mchezo wa kutafuta tiketi ya kucheza michuano ya Kombe la Dunia 2014 dhidi ya Hungary ambapo timu yake ilishinda mabao 4-1. Mabao ya timu hiyo kwenye mchezo huo yalifungwa na Jeremain Lens aliyefunga bao la kuongoza kabla ya Balazs Dzsudzsak wa Hungary kusawazisha kwa penati lakini Martin Bruno Indi aliongoza bao la pili na kupelekea timu hiyo kwenda mapumziko ikiwa inaongoza. Mabao mengine ya Uholanzi yalifungwa na Lens ambaye alifunga mabao mawili katika mchezo huo na Klaas-Jan Hunterlaar aliyepigilia msumari wa mwisho kwenye jeneza la Hungary na kuihakikishia Uholanzi kuondoka na lama zote tatu. Baadhi ya michezo mingine iliyochezwa jana, Hispania ilifanikiwa kuibuka na ushindi mwembamba wa bao 1-0 dhidi ya Georgia huku Ufaransa wakiibugiza Belarus kwa mabao 3-1 wakati Ujerumani nao wakiendeleza wimbi la ushindi kwa kuisambaratisha Austria mabao 2-1.

Soldado was the only change to the side that started the Euro 2012 final victory over Italy, but Vicente del Bosque's side were far from at their slick best and almost went behind when Alexander Amisulashvili struck a post.

Germany continued their 100 per cent start to Group C with a 2-1 win in Austria.
Goals from Marco Reus and a Mesut Ozil penalty either side of half-time had Joachim Low's side in control, Zlatko Junuzovic pulling one back for the hosts.

Sweden won their opening game 2-0 at home to Kazakhstan, Rasmus Elm and Marcus Berg on target.
Italy got their first win in Group B with a 2-0 success over Malta.
After a 2-2 draw with Bulgaria in their opener, goals at either end of the match from Mattia Destro and Federico Peluso gave the hosts three points.
Bulgaria joined them on four points after a bad-tempered 1-0 win over Armenia.
Stanislav Manolev scored the winner, but the highlight of the second half was a flurry of red cards, Bulgaria's Svetoslav Dyakov and Armenia's Marcos Pizelli and Gevorg Ghazaryan all sent off.
